funding opportunities
Awards and financial assistance
Financial assistance may be offered to qualified graduate students in the form of Research and/or Teaching Assistantships. The amount of the assistantships may vary depending on assigned duties; however, the Teaching Assistantships generally range from $2,200 to $9,000.
Applicants with excellent academic records may apply for a University Graduate Fellowship. A small number of fellowships are made available throughout the whole university to superior applicants who might otherwise be attracted elsewhere by scholarships or grants. Qualified graduate students in Human Kinetics are entered in the University-wide selection process, which determines those students who will receive financial support for the following academic year.
Provincial summer session grants are also available, offered through the provincial Ministry of Labour and administered through the University.
In addition to the above funding sources your thesis supervisor may also be able to provide funding from a research grant or contract.
Additional information is available at the Graduate Student website.
