The main research focus in the Biomechanics Laboratory, located in the confines of War Memorial Gymnasium, is gait analysis including running, walking, and cycling in both normal and non-normal situations.  The lab is equipped with a flush-mounted force platform, electromyographic recording system, a high-speed camera, and a Peak Performance 3D-video system.  On-going work includes a project to investigate aspects of below-knee amputee gait, asymmetry in running mechanics, and physiological and biomechanical correlates in cycling.
