The Leisure & Sport Management Laboratory supports a variety of socio-managerial research focused on sport, leisure and the mass media. Funded research projects currently underway include: tobacco sponsorship of broadcast sport events; newspaper sports journalism; leisure provision for persons living in poverty; the evaluation of new community partnerships in health and recreation; strategic planning in national sport organizations; inter-organizational linkages as a strategic response to change; and stakeholder theory in intercollegiate athletics.
