Personnel

The personnel associated with the laboratory are of paramount importance to having both a productive lab and an enjoyable work experience. Students are carefully selected based on a number of criteria including academic background, grades and work ethic. The laboratory director, Dr. Ian M. Franks, is well respected both as a UBC faculty member and in Motor Control and Motor Learning circles. Dr. Franks guides the research direction taken by the students, while providing flexibility for them to pursue their own research interests. The lab employs a technician who, with a background in computer science and robotics, is well suited to provide technical support in both hardware and software applications. Past students have gone on to various successful positions in both academia and industry.
