Information for Prospective Students

Applications from excellent students for MSc and PhD graduate studies are welcomed. Candidates with a first degree in Human Kinetics, Psychology or related fields will be considered. Please complete and send me the ‘Faculty-student interest’ form which can be obtained by clicking here. It is expected that prospective students will have a strong interest in the processes underlying motor behaviour and skill acquisition and will have demonstrated some proficiency in these areas during undergraduate/graduate study/research.
- Graduate (undergraduate) students are encouraged to apply for external funding 1 year before entering the program. Canadian students are strongly encouraged to apply for NSERC or SSHRC funding. An 80% average in the last 2 years of study is required for external funding consideration at UBC. For more details see UBC Grad Studies
- Teaching assistantships are typically available for all graduate students (~$5000) for each year of study.
- Tuition fee awards are available (GIS) for PhD students and there are no differential International fees for MSc or PhD.
- Graduate entrance scholarships (~$4000) are available for outstanding students.
